The Flint Community Advisory Board (CAB)
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) of the Healthier Black Elder (HBE) program in Flint consists of local residents and stakeholders who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of older adults in the Flint community. Established in 2020 with a grant from the National Institute on Aging, the CAB is actively working to establish a participant resource pool of older adult research volunteers similar to the one operating in Detroit. The CAB is partnering with several local organizations who have already laid the foundation for ethical research review in Flint, and the CAB aims to join this coalition and provide support for research that is directly relevant to the needs of minority older adults in the community.
